The Hammocks Homes for Sale

The Hammocks is a gated deed-restricted community east if I-75 at the eastern most end of Bee Ridge Road at Iona Road just across from the new Publix center.  Building began with 194 level home sites in 2001.  Builders such as John Cannon Homes, Pruett Homes, Tivoli and Coachman homes were actively selling homes.  Construction stopped for the most part in 2006 with the economic downturn.   Tivoli began offering homes in 2010 and there are approximately 13 sites waiting for custom your custom designed home.  You can also find lots on the market from time to time.

Existing homes start with approximately 3,200 square feet for a three-bedroom two-bath and run to a towering 5,600 square feet for a five-bedroom four-bath home.  Since the homes have a custom flair, homes can be traditional Florida, courtyard design and one or two stories.  It is normal to find such features as high step and coffered ceilings, oodles of crown and dental moldings, formal living and dining rooms with large tile or inlaid designs.  Kitchens can have granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances from manufacturers such as Wolfe, gas fed stoves and ranges, and generous walk-in pantries.

Amenities that you would expect in the higher end estate homes are standard here.  It is all about the space.  Master suites with his and her closets, double sinks, and artful walk-in showers behind glass enclosures with

large sitting or whirlpool tubs are the norm.  Ten-foot multi-panel pocketing sliders can be found in several rooms that spotlight wonderful pool and lanai areas.  You also can find homes with an outdoor gas fireplace.  After all, the pool area of a Florida home is the first “wow” impression when you enter these homes and it also sees the most use. Homes are well maintained in The Hammocks and boast high-end tropical landscaping, paver brick driveways leading to two, three or even four car garages, and tile roofs.  Premium lots will back to a lake or preserve and range in size from 11,000 to over 2,200 square feet.

The schools for The Hammocks are Tatum Ridge Elementary, McIntosh Middle, and Sarasota High School.
