Located on Rose Street just west of South Shade Avenue is the quiet neighborhood, Hyde Park Citrus which borders South Gate. Generally considered an affordable area close to the downtown area, homes are generally older homes under 2,000 square feet.

Hyde Park Heights

A distinctly different subdivision also located east of South Shade Avenue north of Hyde Park Street, Hyde Park Heights offers older homes that are generally less than 2,000 square feet. Homes are also generally built in the 1950’s and 1960’s but there is also the occasional newer home. Arlington Park is nearby which features mature trees and a swimming pool.  Street names include Hillview , Arlington, and Hawthorne Streets.
