Known as one of Sarasota’s first planned community of 95 homes, McClellan Park has one of the best locations and some of the finest examples of vintage homes with loads of character. Initially planned in the mid 1920’s, the more significant homes have been maintained to the highest standard and are held out as historic homes boasting the character and craftsmanship only found years ago. There have been a few of the bungalow homes that have found a better use being redeveloped into newer modern ‘one-off’ architectural masterpieces. After all, the location is very highly sought after. The streets are lined with old Oak canopies and some of the retaining walls are ivy draped.

Falling within the highly desirable “west of trail” location, walking to Southside Village, Morton’s Market, Sarasota Memorial and all the restaurants and shops along the way is a breeze. Lot sizes range from just over 6,000 square feet to nearly one full acre with most falling into the 9-15,000 foot range. Larger parcels, on occasion, have room for a guest cottage.  Residences range from about 1,000 to over 9,000 square feet with as many as six bedrooms and 9 baths.

Street names are  Blue Heron D.r, Cunliff Ln, Hyde Park St, Illehaw Dr., Mietaw Dr., Okobee Dr., Oriole Dr., Oval Dr., Seminole Dr., Sioux Dr., Wewa Dr., and of course, McClellan Parkway.
