New and newer homes in Sarasota that are west of i-75 can often be pricey options. The exception would be the 69 homes located at Oak Vistas.
Originally conceived in 2005, this subdivision became dormant during the crash of 2006 after only 12 homes were built. DR Horton took over in 2010 and began building new homes through 2015. The Mediterranean inspired homes are the desirable concrete block and stucco style featuring two car garages, barrel tile roofs, modern kitchens with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops, tile and wood flooring, master suites with walk-in closets and high ceilings. Many still have the 10 year builder structural warranty in place. Some of the home sites also have a serene lake view.
Residences are sized between 1,700 and 2,500 square feet in three, four, and five bedroom configurations with two or three bathrooms. Two story models along with covered front porches and lanai’s can also be found which adds to the wonderful curb appeal Oak Vistas residents enjoy. The lot sizes range from 5,500 to 25,000 square feet. Homeowner association fees in this deed-restricted community are quite modest.
Location is always a key and Oak Vistas are centrally located in Sarasota. Quick access to the interstate, downtown Sarasota a, one of the nation’s top rated beaches at Siesta Key, and quaint shops and tableside cafes found at St. Armand’s Circle are all within quick reach. University Town Center and all the shopping are just a quick 10 minute drive to cover all of those day to day needs. Benderson Park is on the way which features rowing events and offers a scenic background to jog or walk.
Schools are Brentwood Elementary, McIntosh Middle, and Sarasota High School. Street names are Ellarose Circle, Aaron Court, and Old Trenton Lane.
