Colonial Oaks is a modest, deed-restricted community of 622 homes located between Cattlemen Road to the west, Honore Road to the east, Webber Street to the South and just south of Bahia Vista Street.  The affordability, serenity of the oak tree lined streets, and the convenience to I-75, shopping, and Siesta Key Beach make it one of the best values in the Sarasota market.

The first homes were built in 1986 and the majority of construction ending in 1994.  The homes generally three to four bedrooms and are the typical Florida split plan which feature several sliders that will open to lanai and the centrally located kitchen.  Many homes will also have a screened pool area.  Home sizes are between 1200 to over 3,000 square feet.  Most are concrete block and stucco with shingle roofs.  Lot sizes will start around 7,500 square feet and can be as much as 15,000 square feet.  There are also several lakes in Colonial Oaks and you will notice a slight premium for homes that back to one.

Colonial Oaks Park is located at the west end of the subdivision at Colonial Oaks Blvd and Honore.   A public meeting room, basketball courts and tennis courts are located in this county-run and managed property.  The county has recently opened up Honore giving even quicker access for residences heading into the south end of town.

The schools for Colonial Oaks are Brentwood Elementary, McIntosh Middle and Sarasota High School.
