Country Place is a Centrally located medium-sized 170 home deed-restricted community located between Proctor Rd. and Clark Rd.  Access to the community is from either Sawyer Rd from the east or Beneva Rd. from the west.  Country Place has an unusual deed-restriction in that every home is required to have an in-ground pool.  Lot sizes for homes in the price range also tend to be quite large by Sarasota standards.  Country Place is convenient to shopping, the interstate, and the beaches of Sarasota including the top ranked Siesta Key Beach.  10 minutes is all it takes to get to most Sarasota shopping, Sarasota Downtown, one of Sarasota’s many beaches and I-75.

Construction started in 1978 and was completed in 1983.  Home sizes range from 1,800 sq. ft. up to over 3.400 sq. ft. and will have up to four bedrooms.  Most homes are concrete block construction, all homes per subdivision rules have screened lanais with pools, and at least a two car garage.  Many homes also have tile roofs.

Being built in the late 70’s, homes will generally feature large family, living and dining rooms,   Kitchens in many cases will  have been upgraded over the years and can be integral to the family and pool areas.  Master suites can include a separate shower and double sinks.  Homes of this era may not have the grandeur in the closet areas and master baths as today’s new homes have.

Lot sizes run from just under 12,000 sq. ft. up to under 19,000 sq. ft.

Country Place schools are Wilkinson Elementary, Sarasota Middle and the desirable Riverview High School.
