Deer Creek is one of the original subdivisions within the Palmer Ranch area with 376 single-family homes and 106 free standing maintenance free villas.  The first thing you will notice upon driving through the staffed guard gate, is the comfortable feel the beauty of the homes, the winding streets, and the grand presentation each home commands.  By design, the subdivision is dotted with mature towering oaks and manicured yards.    Nearly half of the 285 acres are set aside for lakes and preserves.  Homes sold quickly when the first homes were built in 1989.  It was said that each of the builders in Deer Creek really tried to out-do one another.  Only Sarasota’s best-known builders were invited to build in Deer Creek.  The short list included Lee Wetherington, Arthur Rutenberg, Ammon Schrock, Pruett, and Todd Johnston.  The result is Deer Creek remains one of the most prestigious and well-maintained communities in Sarasota even 20+ years later.

The homes are all block construction with almost no exception tile roofs.  Home sizes are from 1,850 square feet and three bedrooms all the way up to 5,900 square feet and five or six bedrooms.  It is also a rare exception to find a home without a caged pool and lanai area for relaxed outdoor living.  Home designs are open with high ceilings, modern kitchens with breakfast bars, formal living and dining rooms.  Many will have dens and lavish master bedroom suites with whirlpool tubs dual sinks, and his and hers closets.  Garage spaces can be for two or three cars so all cars in the community are parked under roof at night.  Homes can have a lake or preserve view.

The free standing Villas of Deer Creek are going to be from 1,400 square feet up to an amazing 3,500 square feet.  The villas are on Deer Trail Blvd and Bobcat Circle.  Expect villas to be two bedrooms and two baths with many of the same features found in the single-family homes.  The one exception would be in lieu of a private pool, villa owners’ benefit from the fully appointed community pool and community house.There are also two car garages.

Schools are Gulf Gate Elementary, Sarasota Middle and Riverview High School.
