Stoneybrook is a gated golf course community of 503 single-family and maintenance free homes built between 1990 and 1999 located on the highly sought after Palmer Ranch.  Split-plan homes are from 1,500 to 3,500 square feet and are concrete block construction with at least a two-car garage.   Lot sizes can be as large as over one-half acre and a price premium is expected for a fairway, preserve or lake view.

The neighborhood centers around the recently renovated club house and 18-hole, par 72 golf course.  Equity membership is included by deed for all properties.  The revamped club offers owners and members a community heated pool, state of the art fitness center, tennis courts and security.  The well-polished Stoneybrook Golf website contains current pricing and features offered.

Homes are well maintained by design and are situated off tree-lined streets.  Expect amenities to be abundant and of high quality and taste just as any of the nicer homes in Sarasota would.  These can include a private caged pool, dazzling kitchens with upgraded appliances from manufacturers like Viking and Sub-Zero, coffered and vaulted ceilings, granite or marble counter tops,  large modern tile installed on the diagonal, interior laundry rooms, master suites with walk-in showers, whirlpool tubs, double sinks, and oversized closets.

At the time of this writing, new owners are subject to a one-time $3,000 capital contribution fee and a $500 annual restaurant minimum. There is also a maintenance free section and one would expect the recurring Homeowners fees to be a bit higher in these areas.

The schools for Stoneybrook are Laurel Nokomis Elementary and Middle Schools and the Senior High School is Venice.
