Situated at the northern end of Longboat Key on twenty-seven tropical acres with breathtaking views of Sarasota Bay are the condominiums at Windward Bay.  This low-density property features deeded beach access, covered parking, two heated pools, a fitness center, tennis courts, and storage for kayaks, bikes, or other items you may want to keep.  Most units will have an unobstructed view of the bay so don’t be surprised to see the occasional dolphin or manatee passing by along with a sailboat or tropical water-birds.  Residents are also provided deeded beach access which is a real benefit to bay side property owners without the cost of being beach front.

Boat docks are available on a first-come first-served basis and with a monthly cost less than $50 per month and the close distance to direct access to the Gulf of Mexico, the value of the location of this property has just gone up! But don’t be scared off!  Even with a higher value, Windward Bay is one of the most affordable condominiums in the Longboat Key Condo market.

The Bradenton Beach is also is just north and has a beach-town feel with casual waterfront dining in some as well as surf shops and shopping.  To the south is the Bay Isles Shopping for the day-to-day needs that are taken care of, in part, by the new Publix.  A bit further south puts you into the refined and upscale setting of St. Armand’s Circle with its boutiques and either upscale or café style dining.

The property was developed in 1974/1975 and has approximately 141 condominium and villa units amongst spread out between eight or so buildings.  The condominiums are three levels with under-building parking.  The unit sizes are generally from just under 1,100 to 1,300 sq.ft.  and most have two-bedrooms and two-baths with a lanai or enclosed porch that takes full advantage of the spectacular bay views.   There are a few one-bedroom units that can be as small as approximately 800 square feet.

One of the most notable things you will first notice upon driving onto the property is the care and maintenance of the buildings and the grounds.  The feel is of a much newer building but without the multi-million dollar price tag. Many of the residences have been updated and upgraded particularly the flooring, kitchens and baths over the years.   The interior level of finish is up to the owners and units are priced accordingly.
