Gated within the gated community of Bay Isles on Longboat Key (yes, a double gated community), all of the homes are on canal, lagoon, or bay front water with direct and quick access to Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico without any worries about bridge height. Water access is what it is all about and several residences enjoy a premium full bay-view. Some have canal footage well over 100 feet and with an average depth in the four to five foot range; just about any yacht can be moored out back of the homes.
There is always a concern about flooding on any barrier island. Design requirements for all homes are quite apparent with all homes being elevated which mitigate potential water issues.
Being part of the Bay Isles community has some real benefits. The Bay Isles Beach Club is directly across the street, beachside, and offers exclusive access to the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. A rare commodity is access to Golf right on the key through the Longboat Key Club.
